Engaging in less than licit activities in the heart of the Hoenn Pokémon League's operations feels like a provocation, but then again so did everything else Erin has done for Rocket so far. It couldn't be helped, though—with Slateport in disarray, Lilycove became the only maritime entry point into the region for all the resources she needed for her latest project.

She's sifting through some of said imported goods when the door opens.

For a good minute, the arrival doesn't divert her attention from the huge screen in front of her, where a 3D render of the small ball on her desk is animated to alternate between its normal state and a second one reminiscent of a sea urchin. After all, the only way to be allowed access to that particular floor in the hotel is to present a specific key card, and the total number of people in possession of one of those is currently two. She's the first.

The chair she's sitting on slides across the floor until she reaches the surgical table placed exactly in the center of the room. Crossing her arms over the head rest, she finally invites him in.

He came in time just as instructed.

A specific floor of the hotel was his destination, one that's apparently off limits for anyone else without the keycard he possessed. With a swipe of his card, the elevator moved, down or up, he couldn't even tell. The elevator doors slid open and he was presented with a short hallway with a lonesome door by the end of it.

Lucius tapped his knuckles against the door. With her audible invitation, he entered, locking the door behind out of habit. As she instructed, Lucius sat.

His eyes immediately gazed upon her surgical equipment, all haphazardly scattered across the table as though she was still in the middle of fiddling with something.

"Are those sterile?" He asked, out of curiosity.

"What is this? Why is this?"

He's surprisingly obedient for a person who has been invited to an unknown location for unclear reasons. She wonders if it has to do with how long he's gone without that arm. While researching for the prosthesis, she'd come across an article or two about the psychology affecting phantom limbs.

Erin arches an eyebrow at his question. "Who do you take me for?"

The second and third questions go unanswered. Instead, she places a finger on his chest as she moves to stand up. The poke is gentle. Her voice is not. "Take these off."

Normally, a surgeon would have nurses lead the patient towards a changing room and help them get changed. Erin doesn't care for those formalities. She's also no surgeon. She stands in front of him, waiting for him to undress his upper body so that she can better inspect the cut.

The metallic arm lies on another table, waiting to be adjusted and then implanted on its new owner.

He raised a brow at the purple haired woman, her actions teased while her words didn't. Lucius couldn't put an exact finger at what she's actually trying to accomplish, suffice to say, he was loving it.

The pale man took off his clothes without hesitation, revealing his scarred, yet chiseled body.

"Have you ever done this before?" He asked, fearing that he might be a lab rat for her to test out her newly acquired surgery skills learned straight from the internet.

He could barely check the metal arm across the other table, so far, it was looking promising for him. Regardless, it was something he truly looked after.

"You should probably give me the run down by now, no? I'd like to know what it does, honey. Just saying."

An appreciative look is offered to his sculptured torso, but the spotlight is definitely the place where something —someone— severed the man's arm. A clean cut, though whether that was due to the executioner or due to post-traumatic treatment, she's not qualified to say.

A hum is all the answer he gets to his next request. Erin is having fun, playing with him. Besides, she's made sure the arm is so easy to use that little explanation would be needed. She wouldn't be so proud of her creation if she hadn't made it literally foolproof.

On second thought, there is something she wants to say. She props up against the cushioned table, only inches separating them now. "Oh, darling, have you always been this precocious?"

"Curious is the proper word." He rebutted.

Erin traced her finger against his stump. He couldn't feel most of it but his sensation was there at the slightest after severely damaging most of his nerve endings on that area.

"Drew a dick?" He asked.

Her porygon2 lifted his new prosthesis with telekinesis. It was gorgeous, shiny, and all in all cool; a whole new level of bling. He could see himself smile through its faint reflection.

Erin came closer and propped herself against the table, his gaze instinctively aimed at her bosom first before it got to her face. He smiled, delighted by her presence.

"Curious, I told you." He said, inching his face even closer to hers.

Technically, she doesn't need to run any more scans. The pokémon had gotten enough information during their two previous interactions and the arm was already fitted accordingly. Many things could happen in half a week, though, and Erin, being the meticulous woman she is, wants it all to be perfect.

Lucius's answer has her frowning. Smile gone and replaced. She can't tell if he's only being childishly inappropriate or if he legitimately has lost most of the nerves on his shoulder. Better test it now, she decides.

"I used the same alloy that steelix are made of," she begins her explanation as the arm is positioned to attach to his shoulder. The pale blue of her eyes is diverted from his gaze for this. "Harder than diamonds."

The arm is turned over with the same care she'd use when she was working on sculpting it. She taps twice on the space where his forearm would have been, and a metal lid gives way to an OLED screen. "Comes with an integrated computer. Phone, dex, radio, map, and whatever else you want to download from its App Store."

Until then, everything looked and worked great. It's no surprise; they were the easiest parts of the project. The real trial of fire begins now. Hopefully she'd only have to make a few adjustments, rather than completely remake the arm.

"The electrodes I added over your shoulder will pick up when your muscles contract, and move accordingly." She presses down on the prosthetic arm's socket, at its very top, to show him where she means.

Lucius only needs to know the general location. He wouldn't be able to see the EMG electrodes or the amplifier, of course, as they're hidden inside the arm.

He eyed the arm as it was brought closer to his shoulder's stump, ready for installation. Erin meticulously attached his new arm, a faint sting was felt as it was integrated into his body. He felt a weird sensation as soon as his new prosthesis was set, it felt as though his left arm was there yet not at the same time.

"Nice." He trailed off as he slowly tried to make a fist. "I'm, like, an eighth of a steelix now."

He slowly opened the fist he had made and tested its joints, swishing and flicking his wrist as he tried to fold his arm. Surprisingly, it all went smoothly as though it was entirely organic. The small computer that came with it did settle the deal moreso.

"It feels weird? But not in the bad way. I can't feel nuch with it, but I know it's moving. It'll definitely take some time to get used to."

He raised his arm and brought it back down as a final test of his joint functions. With everything going unexpectedly smooth, the look of amazement could be visibly seen through his face.

"You're mad smart, honey." He said, complimenting her skills and evident intellect. "But what's in it for the price, though?"

She brushes the matter of payment off as if it was nothing. "You can't afford my fees." It's not a guess; it's a fact. The arm may have costed her a couple grand in materials just to build, multiplied by the amount of prototypes she'd trashed along the way, but it was nothing her commissioned day job and personal fortune couldn't make up for in due time.

Still, Erin finds herself smiling at the compliment.

There is little she could do about the lack of sensitivity in the metallic arm. Such were the limitations of a prosthesis. Far from a disadvantage, however, Erin sees it as a strength. Lucius would feel no pain on that arm even if he punched a train with it. He could do so many things a normal person couldn't now, simply because of his new arm.

"It's not too heavy, is it?" Erin had made the insides of the arm hollow so that it wouldn't be too heavy to carry. Hollow steelix metal is still steelix metal, though. If the arm grew too heavy to carry, she'd have to either adjust its weight or add a harness.

She leaves the relative comfort of the surgical table, looking to walk around it and inspect the other side of the attached arm. From behind him, she adds, "I'm toying with the idea of a few more upgrades. Do you have any requests?"

"I must say, darling, it's perfect as it is."

Lucius was content with what he was given. A prosthesis of peak quality was given to him for free, what more could he ask for. He stood up from his chair and gave his new arm a few twists and turns. While it was hard to balance himself at first, it only took him a few seconds before he was able to finally adapt with its weight.

"And don't worry, I'd be of debt to you. If you need me in any way, I'm all down.

He tapped his forearm, bringin up the screen of his built in miniature computer. He scrolled horizontally through its functions and, just as promised, it did have its own app store similar to standard mobile phones of nowadays.

"Mind if you share with me what upgrades you were thinking of adding?"

He asked, curious as to what else she might have done to improve his metal arm.

"In any way, huh?" she muses, though really she's not too focused on Lucius's offer. While it's true that he may prove useful in the future, at the moment she has no need for a personal slave. She could, however, keep him as the puppy she always wanted to replace her alolan meowth for. The idea amuses her.

"Try not to destroy my arm or download any viruses." Erin gives him a pointed look at this. She's not directly looking at the screen, but she knows the mobile computer's interface very well. She did use her own preferred operative system for it, after all. She can infer that he's already trying to download something on it.

Her eyes drift down the suite. "That's payment enough."

Lucius looks and sounds pretty pleased with the new appendage, which means they could start wrapping up. Erin disappears down her makeshift lab to fetch one more gadget for him. Her voice echoes in the otherwise quiet room.

"A few add-ons for extra utility and minor optimization; nothing you can see yet."

He actually could see the beginnings of her research sitting across the arrangement of tables in the room. A study on the lightning-attractive property of togedemaru, plans for an inner cooling system. They're ambitious as much as their results are unpredictable. Whether he'd know what to make of them—unlikely.

When she's back, she hands the man a pair of peculiarly ordinary sunglasses. At least, that's what they look like. "The arm itself can't record your surroundings—couldn't find a good position for the camera—so these will have to do."

"Oh, I'll take care of it alright."

Lucius turned off his built-in comp with a few taps and took the pair of sunglasses off of her hands. He gave it a swift inspection, giving the pair of glasses a quick glance on a few angles before fitting it to his head. It felt normal at most, nothing out of the ordinary, not until the device on his new bionic arm notified him of the pairing it made with his new pair of stylish shades.

He had his fingers trace a circular pattern on the screen of his built-in device, allowing him to take a quick photo of Erin as he gave it a quick test.

"Sweet." He smiled as he saved her photo, something Erin would probably notice, yet he cared not one bit.

"Shouldn't we test this baby out?" He asked. "What do you say we bring this sucker out for a test-drive, honey?"

Erin notices, of course. The camera makes no giveaway clicking sound, but Lucius himself doesn't seem to be making any efforts to hide his action. It doesn't particularly bother her, either way. Hoenn is a liberating place in the sense that she doesn't have to worry about news reporters flashing lights in her face and asking about her dad.

"Should I give you my number to pair with that?"

It's a rhetoric question. The truth is, even if he hadn't taken her picture then, he would eventually have found out her number through the calls she'd have to give him in order to schedule check-ups and maintenance sessions for his metal arm.

"We?" she repeats, eyebrows rising in surprise. Though Erin wasn't expecting it, the offer is considered briefly. After spending literal days pretty much shut in this room working on the arm, she decides an outing wouldn't be half bad.

She motions for Lucius to start walking towards the door while she hurries inside another room. A belt is picked up first and quickly wrapped around her oversized shirt, making it look like a dress. A pair of ribbons wrap around her ankles too, this time courtesy of her pokémon's

telekinesis

. Last but not least, she grabs her hand purse.

Just before she steps out the suite, Erin calls for her Porygon2's attention. "Be back later, Siri. Take care of 24K while I'm gone."
